I have been actively counselling since 2013 and have experience specialising in family counselling, individual and couples’ therapy. I use a wide range of therapeutic approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy systemic practice and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I counsel people from diverse national, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. I help them to confront a wide range of difficulties which have caused psychological suffering, such a trauma and domestic abuse.

I am a tutor at Edinburgh University and an accredited trainer in counselling. My experience includes supervising therapists from a wide range of counselling agencies across Scotland. This involves training therapists from a wider range of modalities.

My previous experience includes developing and implementing novel interventions especially in relationship therapy. I am fluent in Spanish, and I have worked with youths caught in the gangs in Central America, concentrating on addressing hypermasculinity and promoting non-violence. This included psychologically based interventions and community-based support to re-integrate youths into the community.

I have worked as a clinical manager on both sides of the Atlantic, leading both small and large clinical and supervisory teams in a professional and ethical manner. I developed best practice approaches in demanding environments.
